We don’t just turn on Thursdays.  We are open to other woodworking projects. Frank decided that a good project would be to make a quality wooden box to house his thread chasing tools, so we set about it and here is the result.

Franks Sycamore Box made with mitred corners.

First attempt at mitres.

Not bad for a first attempt  at mitre joints I would say. Frank would be the first to admit that he is no joiner but was pleased with the results.  The project gave him the chance to try out  his new biscuit jointer.  Looks like he used the same tool to install his hinges.  Lamello make a nice metal hinge that fits into the slot made by the biscuit jointer.

A box hinge fitted using a biscuit jointer.
