Unless you are very fortunate and have a heated workshop/studio, the current weather will play havoc with your tools and lathe bed etc.  A certain reluctance takes over when it is cold, to venture out.  Consequently your tools don’t get used as much. With remarkable stealth the dreaded rust takes hold.

Restoring tools to their original condition takes a lot of time and effort so prevention, in this case is quite definitely, better than the cure.

Why not use what you will most likely already have available.  cCoat your tools with a protective layer, which will last most of the winter.

All it needs is a quick wipe over with your  Chestnut paste wax (other brands are available).
